The Student Council (SCA) is composed of 30 students,
two from each homeroom in grades 3-5.
The SCA meets regularly to discuss ideas to
improve programs and relationships between staff and students, along with
promoting school spirit.
They bring their ideas to their adoptive homeroom,
which is in the grades of Kindergarten through second. They listen
to student and staff input and, after discussion, decide on fun activities
and events to promote pride at Chittum Elementary.
The SCA students are involved in many activities
to enhance their experiences in leadership, speaking in groups,
organizational skills, as well as learning good citizenship qualities. |

October
In October, the S.C.A. helps to raise funds
for the United Way. These funds are
derived from the student population alone.
December
The S.C.A. continues to support the Toys
for Tots Drive with a decorated Christmas Tree in the multipurpose room. Chittum's students, staff, and community donate new toys
every year. Toys donated included stuffed animals, books, dolls, trucks,
radios, and remote control cars. Thank you to all of those who have shared your
heart during the holiday season.
March
The S.C.A. continues to support Operation
Smile and raises funds by selling items such as patriotic pops and sour
gummy bears. Additionally, the S.C.A. holds different raffles for
prizes. Thank you to all students and staff who have helped to share a
smile.
