Mrs. Monica Agudelo

Mrs. Agudelo is a highly motivated and enthusiastic educator that strives to make curriculum relevant to her students. Her boundless creativity and ability to incorporate current technologies into her lessons and activities engage a wide range of student learning styles. Currently in her tenth year with Chesapeake Public Schools, Mrs. Agudelo teaches Earth Science in both the traditional and e-learning environments. Outside of her captivating classroom, Mrs. Agudelo serves as Senior Class Sponsor, Graduation Coordinator, School Improvement Team Leader, Citywide Curriculum Developer, and SOL Remediation Tutor. She also volunteers as an assistant coach with the Chesapeake CRUSH Volleyball Club and Great Bridge Crew Club.

 

Mrs. Agudelo earned her Bachelor of Science in Geology at Mary Washington College and is currently enrolled in the Instructional Technology Graduate Program at Virginia Tech. She and husband, Bryan Stambaugh, have one daughter, Marcy. Mrs. Agudelo notes, “I hope to treat students the way I would want to be treated. Better yet, I want to serve my students the same way I hope my daughter Marcy will one day be served by her teachers.”

Mrs. Dusty Gabel

Congratulations to Dusty Gabel, Grassfield High School’s 2011-2012 Reading Teacher of the Year!  Mrs. Gabel goes far above and beyond the call of duty to promote literacy at Grassfield High School.  She spearheads a myriad of literacy based groups and events that encourage students to read, and she collaborates with teachers to implement the best reading, writing, and research skills while incorporating the latest and greatest educational technologies.  She is truly a literacy leader at Grassfield High School!
