LET
PEP HELP!
Our
parenting program, here at Jolliff Middle is designed to empower parents to help
their children succeed in school. The objective of our program is to increase
parent involvement. Research shows that parents who are involved in their
child’s school career have children who have a higher academic success rate.
Unfortunately, research also illustrates that parent involvement
typically begins to decline when children enter middle school.
At Jolliff, parent involvement is growing. Parents of students that
attend our two feeder schools, Southwestern and Chittum Elementary, are also
invited to participate in our program. At our parent workshops we offer dinner,
childcare, and homework assistance along with information on the chosen topic
for the evening. We also offer a
Family Fun Night because an overwhelming amount of our students expressed
interest in “coming back” with their parents for another workshop.
We are truly vested in increasing parent
involvement in our schools. Our
parent program is a success because of our staff members who volunteer their
time and their talents to assist our parents.
At PEP, We believe, “a student plus a teacher equals learning, but a
student plus a teacher plus a parent equals success”.
So, let pep help!
